Playing at home for the first time, Bernard Koyyoko has taken an overnight lead in the third circuit of national Scrabble Kenya tournament currently happening in Bungoma.
Enjoying home advantage, Koyyoko registered 9 wins in the opening day in the two day event that comes to an end on Sunday afternoon.
He only lost two games registering a spread of 559.
Reigning Migingo champion Manase Otieno will be enjoying a a night in the second position while the federation chairman Bernard Amuke.
Otieno registered 8 wins while Amuke is in third place with 8 wins.
It was not smooth for second seed Allan Oyende who managed a distance 4th position while Onani Magwanga closes the top five positions.
Heading into the final day on Sunday, the begwigs will be hoping to have good shots for the title.
Daniel Were of MMUST is currently leading in the Intermediate division with Tom Mboya in second place. Simeon Omolo from Kisumu, is in third place. Saul Alukhaba is in fourth place while Wycliffe Matati, closes the podium.
