Champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and Equity Hawks will be facing off with other opponents at the ongoing Women’s Fiba-Africa Zone Five Club Championships qualifiers in Tanzania.
KPA, who started their title defence on high, will be taking on Rwanda’s Regional in the final pool C match after starting well with a win against Burundi’s Young Sisters 69-42.
After losing the opening match to Egypt side Alexandria 51-49, Hawks will be chasing their maiden win against Nile Legends in pool A match tomorrow.
The David Maina team will be seeking their maiden win to advance in the quarter-final. In a three pool tea, the top two finishers will proceed to best eight and top two finishers will earn a slot to play at the Zone Five at the Fiba-Africa Club Championships in Maputo, Mozambique.
Last year, it was an all Kenyan affair when KPA beat Equity Hawks 83-40 to win the title and failed to represent the country at the t Zone Five in the 2021 Fiba Club Championships in Cairo, Egypt due the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
