Krop, Simiu qualify as Jebitok and Kipruto fault

Jacob Krop was the second Kenyan to qualify into the finals of the ongoing World Indoor championships in Belgrade, Serbia today.

Krop, competing in 3,000m joined world under 20 800m bronze medalist Noah Kibet who was the first Kenyan to qualify in the 800m.

But it was disappointing when two-time World indoor 800m champion Collins Kipruto after finishing 4th in 3,000m in 1:48.18 .

Krop who almost lost the qualification after falling finished second in 7:46.21 behind Lamecha Girma in 7:46.21.

Daniel Simiu Ebenyo also qualified in Heat Three after second in 7:54.97 behind Great Britain’s Marc Scott (7:54.90).

It was another disappointment when Africa under 20 1,500m silver medalist Edinah Jebitok, who withdew from competing in the 1,500m failed to qualify for the finals of 3,000m.
