Gusii stadium in Kisii County will undergo another facelift to meet the international standards.
This was announce by president Uhuru Kenyatta that the national government will pump in kshs 150 million to boost the county government’s effort to build the facility that has been hosting various sporting events.
Speaking during the burial of the late cabinet minister Simeon Nyachae at the facility, Uhuru said the 150 million will put the facility to the international class.
“The national government will allocate kshs 150 million to this stadium to meet the international standards. The stadium has played a critical role and we will boost the county government of Kisii to build the facility,” said the president.
The facility play host to National Super league side Shabana FC among others as it will be hosting the Athletics Kenya Track and Field championships in build-up to the Olympic games in Tokyo, Japan.
