Kudwoli focused on Africa Junior and Olympics as Swimming team returns with bronze

Newly crowned national record holder in 50m breaststroke Haniel Kudwoli has focused on representing the country at the 2024 in swimming in Paris, France as well as the Africa Junior championships in Mauritius.

Speaking during the team’s return today, Kudwoli who broke the national record then held by Jason Dunford at 29.75 was lowered to 29.45 during the swimming Speedo invitational championship in Dubai on last weekend.

Kudwoli finished second at the event behind England’s Oscar Bilbao, who clocked 28.35 seconds, with Irish swimmer Omar Tillal in third place after managing 30.08 seconds.

 During the championships, team Kenya finished third overall in the Africa Aquatics zone 3 championships in Kigali which concluded on Saturday

Kenya bagged 1843 .5 points with Uganda winning the overall title in 3206 points with Tanzania finishing second in 2753 points. Hosts Rwanda finished fourth with 1348 points as Burundi finished fifth in 1291 points. South Africa finished sixth 622 points

 Kenya finished third in the Women’s category with 1075 points with Uganda leading the standings on 1427 points as Tanzania came second in 1244 points

 The Boys finished fifth with 712 points. . Uganda led with 125 points as Tanzania came second in 1462 as Rwanda came third in 769 points.
