Kumari Taki top at Hengelo

Former world under 20 1,500m champion Kumari Taki dominated the Fanny Blankers-Koen Games in Hengelo, Netherlands.

The Kenyan runner won the 1,500m title in 3:34.77 with season best after failing to improve on his personal best of 3:34.14.

He faced off with 2019 Summer Universiade 1500m champion Michal Rozmys who was the fastest runner in 3:32.67.

Taki was too swift as he took charge of the race in the final stretch to cross the line in season best of 3:34.77 with the Polish coming home in second in 3:35.40.

The European Indoor bronze medallist, Filip Sasinek from Czech Republic finished third in 3:36.40.

Ireland’s National champion, Andrew Coscoran and the British National Champion, George Mills finished in fourth and fifth place in 3:36.54 and 3:36.92 respectively.
