Kabras Sugar, KCB Rugby are among top teams that will be facing off at the quarterfinals of the ongoing Tisap 7s, the penultimate stage of Kenya Rugby 7s circuit at the Eldoret Sports Club.
The series leaders, who had won all their pool matches, will be taking on Mwamba RFC who finished second in their pool.
The sugar millers joined second placed KCB who also led their pool unbeaten to book for quarters with Andrew Amonde seeking top position at the end of the meeting.
“The Christie 7s win only motivated us to achieve more. Despite our players being taken away by the national team, we keep pushing and hope to win the title,” the former Kenya 7s skipper said.
According to KCB Rugby coach Andrew Amonde, the Bankers will be looking to extend their fine run to win the coveted Tisap 7s title when they meet Menengai Oilers in the first quarterfinal.

Kabras RFC, coached by former Kenya 7s international Felix Ayange were in fine form, managing impressive wins against Daystar Falcons (26-7), Kisumu RFC (22-7), and arch rivals Kenya Harlequins (12-5). The Sugarmen managed a revenge against the Quins who eliminated them from main cup contention at the Christie 7s semifinals.
Ayange noted that he was pleased with his charges’ performances, saying that they will be taking a game at a time come tomorrow.
“I believe in my team despite some of the players being selected for the national team. My goal is to continue maintaining the lead on the log . We take each day at a time. We do not know who we will meet in the quarters but we will plan accordingly,” he said.
