AFC Leopards started their year on a high note beating Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0 in a friendly match played at the Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega ahead of Kenya Premier League resumption.
Leopards Christopher Koloti scored the only goal to seal the 1-0 victory against Homeboyz.
Koloti challenged four defenders, dribbling the ball from the centre to beat Farouk Shikalo in the only shot on target for the team in the 40th minute of the second half.
The homeside had dominated in both halves with Leopard’s keeper Samuel Kusimbi so busy between the posts saving shots from Homeboyz strikers.
Immediately after the score, Wekesa almost equalized from the start but Kusimbi was steady to tip the ball over the bar.
