For the first time, Kenya Lionesses, the national women’s rugby team played at the finals of the Madrid Invitational sevens tournament in Spain.
The Felix Oloo led team lost at the finals in the hands of Russia 19-0 even after beating them in the round robin match.
Lionesses who finished bottom last weekend, showed improved performance this weekend, winning one match in the round-robin stage and suffered a 12-10 loss to Poland while their match against Russia ended 17-5.
Kenya Lionesses would defend better and avoid letting another try and the scored remained unchanged till the full-time whistle.
