Kenyan Lucy Cheruiyot won the Mexico marathon with a course record held yesterday in Mexico.
She broke the then former record held by compatriot Vivian Kiplangat of 2:33.27 to her current record of 2:27.22.
Kiplangat had won the title in 2019 and the race was postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus and Chruiyot did not disappoint to run home with victory.
