Madoya and Kamulindwa handed life at MKO

The Great Rift pro golfer Jatas Madoya has been handed a chance to feature at the DP World Tour Magical Kenya Open set for February 22 – 25 at the par 71 Muthaiga Golf Club.

Despite failing to meet the cut, Madoya was handed the playing time as the only Kenyan to make the cut into the 2023 edition.

He will be joined by Ugandan David Kamulindwa (Entebbe Golf Club) to seal the two vacancies.

Kenya Open tournament director, Patrick Obath speaking during the Absa sponsorship launch at Muthaiga Golf Club said: “The amateur team for the Kenya Open has scaled down to four players because two players from the team will be in South Africa for the continental Championship.”

Amateurs Dennis Maara and Adel Balala—earlier earmarked for the MKO, will be away in South Africa for the continental event.

Professional Golfers of Kenya (PGK) chairman CJ Wangai, said the pros will camp at Muthaiga until the start of the event.
