Deaflympic Games golf bronze medalist Isaac Makokha and Sammy Mulama have taken a joint lead in round two of the ongoing Kenya Amateur Strokeplay Championships, the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series on par 72 Vipingo Ridge Golf Club in Kilifi county.
Makokha, who fired three over par yesterday managed to sink four over par 76 to tie with Mulama, who led round one on Thursday with two over par 74 and today’s five over par for a joint lead of seven over par 73.
Defending champion Adel Balala, who was 10th yesterday with eight over par 80, was the lowest gross lead with one over par 73 to move to third on nine over par 153.
The 72-hole four-day tournament comes to an end on Sunday with the winner earning the sole amateur slot for the 2023 Magical Kenya Open Golf championships.
