National volleyball women team played to 2-all draw in today’s friendly match against Mexico ahead of tomorrow when Challenge Cup serves off.
The Paul Bitok led side recorded Kenya 2 – 2 (20-25, 14- 25, 25 – 11 and 25 -14 ) where the opposing teams agreed to play only 4 sets not 5 sets before the start of the match.
On Friday, the Strikers will start their title battle against Colombia in the four-nation tournament.
Bitok said: “The team played well in most departments we just need to improve in our reception. We had strong attacks today. We hope the same momentum will be the same in the tournament. Otherwise we are ready for the competition.”
According to the rules “Two time out is separated during the set where 1st time out can be called before 12 score or lose it to remain with one after 12 points. Also applied is 2 sets in one side where you are allowed to change only on the 3rd set and .maintain 4th set and 5th set or until end of the match .
“Mexico had strong services, good back court defence and quick attacks . Quick system and strong defence keeps the team as one of the strong team in this competition,” said Bitok
