Kenya’s Malkia Strikers fell to Egypt at the concluded CAVB African Nations Women Volleyball championships that ended yesterday at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani Indoor Arena.
The hosts lost in straight sets of 22–25, 15–25, 15–25 to Egypt, failing to retain their title and 11th continental title at home.
The Egyptians extended their dominance, and denied Kenya a slot for the 2028 Olympic games.
Despite the defeat, Kenya earned individual honors on the podium as Merlin Tata was named best opposite hitter and Marian Sokoiyo claimed the best middle blocker award.
