Malkia Strikers defeated Cameroon in their third match of the ongoing Women World Championships in the Netherlands.
After losing two opening matches to the Netherlands and Belgium, Kenya finally managed to beat continental counterparts Cameroon in straight sets of 25-20, 27-25 and 25-19.
This was Kenya’s first victory fulfilling that it came against a big rival.
Following the victory, Kenya will now face Italy and Puerto Rico in the remaining pool A matches.
Malkia should underrate their opponents at their own peril with the gaffer urging his charges to maintain the bulletproof mindset.
The Cameroon win was Malkia’s second on the global stage after humiliating Kazakhstan 3-0 in 2018.
