Malkia to renew Cameroon rivalry as Africa Volleyball serve off in Egypt

Kenya national women team Malkia Strikers will be working their way to shed off the 2017 memories as they face Cameroon at the Africa Volleyball Championships, the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Kenya was drawn against Cameroon in Pool ‘B’ in the championships that has attracted seven nations namely hosts Egypt, Senegal, Cameroon, Algeria, Botswana, Kenya and Morocco after DR Congo and Lesotho failed to beat CAVB’s deadline for Monday’s registration.

The meeting between Malkia Strikers Cameroon will renew their 2017 finals where Kenya lost 1-3 to Cameroon in the final in Yaoundé.

The Shaileen Ramdoo led charges will then complete their Pool ‘B’ games with a tie against defending champions Cameroon.

Hosts Egypt leads Pool A alongside Morocco and Senegal. The top two teams from both pools will advance to the semi-finals.

Pool A: Egypt, Morocco and Senegal

Pool B: Cameroon, Kenya, Algeria and Botswana.
