Malt Open golf championships: Kopan Timbe to lead Kenyans

Kenya will join six other countries in the Annual 2017 Tusker Malt open golf championships to be staged at Kitante Swamp golf course.

Forty Kenyan professional golfers led by Muthgaiga golf club’s Kopan Timbe and Stefan Anderssen will be trying to redeem their image against South African Joshua Seale.

The par 72 golfer course championships is sponsored by Kenya Breweries where golfers will be battling out for kshs 1.2 million.

Participating countries include Kenya, hosts Uganda, Zambia, Rwanda, Portugal, Zimbabwe and Tanzania.

Today Pro-Am golfers will take on the tee led by Kenya Paul Muchangi from Ruiru, before pros take to the tee in the first round of 18 holes for a total of 72 holes on Thursday before facing the cut after the second round of 18 holes on Thursday.

Friday will be the third round of other 18 holes for those who made the cut and the final other 18 holes on Saturday for the overall winner.
