With a record of three titles with three different teams in the National rugby circuit, Prinsloo sevens champion Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) are in top seed ahead of Sepetuka sevens, the first ever meeting in the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Sevens series across the country.
Sepetuka series debuts this weekend with hosts Homeboyz will be staged at Eldoret’s Sports Club this weekend.
Prinsloo seven’s champions KCB last weekend in Nakuru are a top seed in Pool A together with Mwamba RFC, Kabeberi Seven’s champions Impala Saracens and Catholic Monks.
KCB beat hosts Nakuru RFC 29-05 to claim the Prinsloo title for the third time. Mwamba lost the quarterfinal match to Homeboyz, Impala Saracens was demoted to Challenge Trophy where they won after beating Menengai Oilers 15-07 after edging out Catholic Monks in Challenge Trophy quarters.
Pool B has Prinsloo finalists Nakuru RFC, Blak Blad, Kebeberi finalists Oilers and University of Nairobi students Mean Machine.
Series defending champions Homeboyz, who are also the Driftwood sevens champions are in pool C with Kenya Harlequins, Mount Kenya University, Thika Campus and Nondescripts.
Pool D consists of Strathmore Leos, Kabras Sugar, Western Bulls and Makueni.
