World 5,000m silver medallist, Margaret Kipkemboi ran the world leading time at the 36th edition of the Dam to Damloop 10 mile road raceĀ held on Sunday (23) Amsterdam, Holland.
The 29 year-old was pushed almost to tape by her compatriot Sharon Kemboi but she managed to hold her off at the 500m to outsprint her with a powerful kick that the latter could not respond to cut the tape with a world leading time of 50:42 missing eleven from the course record of 50:31 that was set by Ingrid Kristiansen from Norway thirty five years ago.
The 2018 Commonwealth Games silver medallist was closely followed by Kemboi who crossed the line three seconds later with Africa 10,000m champion, Caroline Nyaga finishing in third
