Mary Moraa and Amos Serem top triumph at Brussels Diamond League

Olympic Games 800m bronze medalist Mary Moraa and former world under 20 3,000m steeplechase champion Amos Serem recorded victiroes at the Brussels Diamond League this evening.

Competing in the 800m, Moraa won the overall 800m trophy with the season best of 1:56.56, beating Great Britain’s Georgia Bell (1:57.50) and Jamaican Goule-Toppin Natoya (1:58.94) to record three out of her four previous Diamond League races.

Fr the first time, Serem defeated Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali to take home the men’s 3000m steeplechase.

Serem won in a time of 8:06.90 ahead of El Bakkali (8:08.60) as Tunisia’s Mohamed Amin sealed the podium in 8:09.68 with Abraham Kibiwott coming 4th at 8:10.51.

In the 1,500m men, former world 1,500m champion Timothy Cheruiyot finished second behind the Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigsten.

Ingebrigtsen won the title in 3:30.37 as Cheruiyot was second at 3:30.93 and American Cole Hocker was third after clocking 3:30.94.
