Mercy Airo earned Kisumu All Starlets much-needed win against visiting Eldoret Falcons in the Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL) match played on Saturday at Moi Stadium, Kisumu.
The striker, who was part of the 39 provisional squad that was named by Harambee Starlets head coach David Ouma into the team ahead of 2020 Olympic qualifiers, proved her worth with the score to earn her team maximum points.
Makolanders, who has been at the receiving end since the season begun, thumbed Mathare United Women’s team to earn maximum points.
Tabaka Chacha, Jane Ndung’e, Amy Lasu and Sharon Adhiambo scored a goal each as Makolanders thrashed Mathare 4-1 with Fauzia Kaunjeri netted a consolation.
In other matches, Thika Queens lacked respect for their hosts as they beat Wadadia 1-3 at Mumias Sports Complex as newcomers Kibera Girls Soccer Academy won 0-2 against their hosts Vihiga Queens 0-2 at the same venue.
