Misoi on back to back Nairobi City marathon title chase

Reigning Nairobi City marathon champion Brimin Misoi has set his focus to retain his title set for Sunday in Nairobi.

The race that enters the second edition will be majorly run on the Expressway after Misoi went ahead to win the Frankfurt Marathon.

The 35-year-old had a poor run in Japan at the Tokyo Marathon in March, where he finished 13th in 2:07:36.

“My target is to defend my title and lower the time I set last year. I target to run sub-2:06:11, which is my PB set in Germany last year,” said Misoi.

Misoi won the title ahead of Edwin Kemboi, Joshua Kipsang, Simon Kipkosgei and Robert Kipkemboi.

Foreign athletes in the race are led by Ethiopian quartet of Haile Mekonnen, Maseret Yitbarek, Desta Tafa and Haile Assefa.

Last year, Agnes Barsosio won the title in ahead of Sheila Chepkoech and Sharon Cheimo.
