Using home ground advantage, Masinde Muliro University (MMUST) bullied their way to win the third meeting of Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA) rugby sevens title series that came today.
The hard tackling MMUST narrowly whipped Kenyatta University’s (KU) Blak Blad to lift the second title after they did the same in Mombasa last month.

Agelit Lionel converted Arthur Wanjohi’s try KU to give the visitors a 7-0 but the MMUST respondent fast through Samuel Mbeche who made his maiden try in the tournament as Nobert Lubwani converted to level the score.
Fast running Lubwani Veron Kasburu added the second try that was well converted by Lubwani for a final 14-07 win.

At the semifinals, the champions defeated The University of Eldoret 31-07 and KU were 10-5 winners against Zetech University in the sudden death play.

At the quarterfinal, Blad were 5-10 winners against Daystar
University in sudden death, which was good revenge after losing in pool C
match on Saturday. Zetech came from 14-0 down to beat Kenya College of
Accountancy 29-14 in sudden death while UoE and MMUST were the 05-14 and 31-05
winners against Kabarak and Dedan Kimathi University of Technology respectively.
