Mohammed Borji has been unveiled as the new Bandari FC head coach following the firing of Ken Odhiambo last week.
Borji, who will be assisted by his countrymate Tarik Bendamou, the Moroccan international is expected to uplift the Mombasa based club following their poor start into the 2025/2026 Kenya Premier league.
Last weekend, the stand-in coach John Baraza who led the team’s first win against Murang’a Seal with 3-1.
Initially Borji was the head coach of Moroccan side COD Meknes then, assistant coach at Moghreb Tetouan.
On his unveiling, Borji said that his ambition is to guide the team to their first-ever Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title.
Bandari FC CEO Tony Kibwana expressed confidence in the new coaching duo, calling Borji the right fit for a club with high ambitions.
Bandari FC Chairman Taufiq Balala echoed Kibwana’s sentiments, praising the appointment as a bold and strategic move.
Borji, a four-time CAF Champions League winner with Wydad Casablanca during his playing days, will have his first test this weekend in the ODM at 20 Tournament, hosted at Bandari’s home ground.
