Fresh from competing in many European cycling championships, Ndung’u Wa Kieya and national Kenya Cycling Federation Series leader Monica Jelimo were the winners of the 2025 Kaptagat Cycling Challenge held yesterday July 5th in Kaptagat.
With the race cutting across the two counties of Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo Marakwet, the duo won their respective men and women titles as they battle for slots to represent the country at the 2025 World International Cycling Union (UCI) world Championships set for September in Kigali, Rwanda.
Wa Kieya, who competed at the Trak event in Spain as well as The Hill race in Italy said that he has the focus to fly the Kenyan flag.
“The victory was good for me and other competitors. The victory has propelled me to train well ahead of World championships set for Rwanda,” said Wa Kieya.
