Double African Nations Championships (CHAN) champions Morocco ended the journey for Zambia following a 3-1 win in a pool A match played at the Nyayo National stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
Mohamed Hrimat, Oussama Lamlaoui, and Sabir Bougrine scored for Atlas Lions to increase their hopes of qualifying into the quarter-finals while Chipolopolo scored an equalizer through Andrew Phiri.
The victory moved Morocco to second on six points, one less than leaders Kenya while Zambia made it three losses out of three ahead of their final match against Kenya in the last pool A match on Sunday at Kasarani.
Hrimat scored first for the winners in the 45+2 minutes before Atlas Lions before Lamlaoui doubled the scores in the 66th minute as Phiri scored a consolation and the only goal for the former champions in the 70th minute foer 2-1 and Bougrine sealed the 3-1 victory at 90+5 minutes.
Later in the evening at the Kasarani stadium, another pool A match between Angola and DR Congo will take place.
