Vet Lab’s Mike Kisia is set to defend his Mount Kenya Championships title in the second leg of Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series this weekend at par 72 Nyeri Golf club.
Kisia was optimistic that come Saturday and if he executes his plans well, he will take the shield back to Vet lab in the 19 meetings across the country.
“As a defending champion, I want to play well and defend my title. I have good plans for the championships,” said Kisia.
The Nyeri meeting is the second one in the KAGC calendar, with John Karichu winning the first meeting of Sigona Bowl at Sigona golf club by defending last year’s title.
Karichu beat Nyali’s Daniel Nduva on sudden death playoff.
Last year, Kisia played level 144 Gross to lift the title. He started with one over 73 on the opening day and ended with one under 71 to claim the crown.
The 36 hole two day tournament kicks off on Saturday ending on Sunday with golfers taking on 18 holes a day.
His title defence will be challenged by reigning KAGC champion Edwin Mudanyi and former national team captain Robinson Owiti who are all from Vet Lab.
