Murunga replace Diallo as Harlequins coach

Former Kenya Sevens head coach Paul Murunga has been hired by Kenya Cup side Kenya Harlequins ahead of Kenya sevens circuit that kick off this Saturday.

Murunga, who signed a two-year contract, will be replacing outgoing Senegalese Amadou Diallo who recorded poor results after finishing the Kenya Cup in the 10th position, missing relegation by a whisker.

The former Kenyan international will be deputized by Simon Odongo and Patrice Agunda. His appointment comes after the departure of Charles Cadovillis, Dominique Habimana, Belgian Antoine Plasman and Amadou Diallo.

He also deuptyzed the late Benjamin Ayimba at Shujaa, coached Homeboyz who went ahead to win Enterprise Cup in 2018, coached Kenya under 20 team from 2012 -2015. He has also had a coaching stint with Mean Machine.

As a player, he played for Ulinzi, KCB, Kenya Simbas.
