Alexander Sasha Mutai was yesterday elected an opposed as the chairman of Kenya Rugby Union (KU) during the polls held at the RFUEA Grounds.
Mutai was unoppsed after hus challenger Joe Onsando withdrew from the race and will be deputized by Moses Ndale retained who retained the seat after edging out Dennis Ombui with 19 votes against 16.
Former Kenya sevens skipper Humphrey Kayange was elected director after garnering 18 votes behind incumbent Leslie Mwangale who had 19 and occupy the two positions with Peris Mukoko coming third with 17 votes while former coach and international Ken Thimba was placed fourth with 14.
In the race for secretary, former Kabras RFC chairman Ray Olendo edged director Oscar Mango by 18 votes to 17.
The four directors’ posts went to Harriette Okach (19), Moses Mukabane (18), Ochieng Ahaya (17) and John Kilonzo 16 votes and will serve four years.
