Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa has defended his move when he called at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
Speaking to Radio Jambo on Saturday morning, Mwendwa said that he was the federation’s 17th official to be grilled at the DCI, blaming his rivals for this tribulationsjust because of the forthcoming elections.
“This is not the first time I have been at the DCI. This was the 4th time I was going there. That dpooesent mean I mismanaged funds but to answer a few questions,” said Mwendwa.
At the same time, he defended his move concerning the kshs 50 million given out by the government through deputy President William Ruto.
Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama had accused the federation for pocketing millions of shillings meant for players but Mwendwa defended the move.
“We had a discussion that players will pocket 70% while the federation was to get 30%. This is the only leadership that has paid players good money,” defended Mwendwa.
