The government through the ministry of sports is planning to host one of the biggest marathon in Kenya, the Express Way marathon next week.
The race, according to government insiders will mark the official launch of Express Way, the road linking Westlands to the Jomo Kenyatta International airport covering a toal of 27.1km, which is expected to be opened officially by president Uhuru kenyatta.
The Expressway starts at Mlolongo and passes through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Nairobi’s CBD ending at Westlands along Waiyaki Way.
The government will conduct test runs in April ahead of the commissioning of the expressway, once complete, Nairobi Expressway will have a four-lane and six-lane dual carriageway within the existing median of Mombasa Road, Uhuru Highway, and Waiyaki Way as well as 10 interchanges.
