Nakuru to host 4th leg of Johnnie Walker Golf series

The Nakuru Golf Club will this Saturday, 18th November 2021 host the 4th round of the ongoing Johnnie Walker Golf Series.

Over 100 golfers are expected to grace the event at the par 73 golf course, playing in the competition’s four-ball Stableford format.

The top three winning teams will book their slots to play in the competition’s Eagles Round where they will aim to make the cut to play in the Series’ Grand Finale to battle it out for the ultimate prize – a fully paid trip to the iconic Gleneagles Golf Course in Scotland.

So far, nine teams have already qualified to play in the next round following the events held at VetLab Sports Club, Thika Greens Golf Club and Windsor Golf Club.

Kenya Breweries Limited’s (KBL) Marketing Manager for Spirits, Josephine Katambo, weighed in on the series progress, saying: “The Road to Gleneagles is in full effect, and we are happy about the progress so far. It is a long series, with a lot of golf yet to be played in the New Year, so we are still just getting our feet wet. We are delighted to be heading to Nakuru this weekend where we expect some very entertaining golf action, similar or even better than we what we have had in the previous rounds.”

The ‘Road to Gleneagles’ Johnnie Walker Golf Series is the latest move by KBL to leverage sport to create more avenues for positive interaction with customers of their brands. Johnnie Walker is a long-time supporter of Kenyan golf, with this latest circuit giving an opportunity for local golfers to compete with a view of increasing the standard of the overall local game.

The Nakuru Golf Club leg will be the final event in the series’ calendar in 2021 before it goes on recess for the festive season. The Series will then make its return in the New Year on January 8th 2022 at the Railway Golf Club in Nairobi
