Fresh from winning Chebara half marathon title in Elgeyo Marakwet, Nancy Jelagat extended her winning formula by clinching the 15th edition of Tegla Loroupe 10km Peace Road race held today in Makutano, West Pokot County.
It was great day for Michael Kibet who beat all the odds to win on home soil in men’s race.
Jelagat clocked 35:50 to win the race ahead of Judy Cherono (36:10) and Sheila Chebiwott to third timing 36:55.
Homeboy Michael Kibet won the men’s race after timing 30:07 ahead of Abel Kiplimo (30:36) and Shadrack Kimutai to third in 30:39.
Luke Shatukei and Rosyline Limuria were the winners of warriors category in men and women respectively with competing in 10km.
Shatukei defeated Ugandan Lokai Momaimon for second position while Simba Ekuum from West Pokot came third.
Limuria used home land well to claim women’s title ahead of Ugandan Nachap Suni and Dorcas Cherop came third.
