Fc Talanta revenged against Global Field Evangelism (GFE) 105 in the National Super League (NSL) match played today (Wednesday) at the under construction Kipchoge Keino stadium in Eldoret.

The visitors overturned the 5-2 loss in the opening match that GFE beat Talanta but on today Kelvin Ndung’u scored the only goal for FC Talanta to collect maximum points.

The 55th minute goal was the only score that divided the two teams who are yearning to play in the Kenya Premier League next season.
Ndung’u capitalised on GFE’s defense lapse to shoot with his right foot within the box from a long throw by Erick Kapaito, beating sabstitute goalkeeper Alex Tengu after barren draw in the opening half.
Striker Ndung’u made his intentions clear when his shot on the 20th, whose shot beat then keeper Kevin Mwakha but hit the post.
Ten minutes later, he had a a good scoring chance when he came face to face with Mwakha and his low shot in the right side of the post was saved by finger tips.
When he was called in the Harambee Stars squad, Zeka Wakoli had scored five goals for his club (GFE) and today he had bad lack as his two shots did not bear any fruit.
On 32nd minute, Zeka’s first shot hit the crossbar after beating keeper Joel Bataro. He returned again on the 70th minute but it was similar as his left foot shot hit the crossbar.
The win was a blessing for Talanta coach Moses Irungu who said that when they lost the opening match they had to restructure and hatch a winning formula.
“We came here to win and take home three points and that is what we have done. We lost the opening match to them but we had to ensure that we win luckily enough our strategy has worked,” said Irungu adding that their plans worked well.
