Two time world marathon champion Catherine Ndereba and world 1,500m champion Timothy Cheruoyt have been rewarded by President Uhuru Kenyatta during the Jamhuri Day.
The Nyayo National Stadium celebration today was great for former Olympic Games marathon silver medalist, Ndereba who serves as the Assistant Commissioner of Prisons has been awarded Moran of the Burning Spear (MBS) for her outstanding contribution in the sports sector
Popularly called ‘The Great’ aka Driver is also the former world marathon only record holder.
Cheruiyoit, also from prison service has been awarded Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) for his outstanding performance in sports sector.
