Daniel Nduva on Saturday ended the 12th year-long wait as he won the 2019 Uganda Open amateur golf championship at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort.
The Nyali club played the four rounds with two under par 286 for the title to lead a podium sweep for Kenyan golfers history in a 1-2-3 finish.
Nduva’s win ended the 12th year long wait for Kenya since Nicholas Rekoine won in 2007.
Nduva, who finished 4th on a penultimate day won by a shot to compatriot Simon Njogu from Great Rift Valley Resort for a total of one-under-par 287 as Kenya Railway Golf Club’s Samuel Njoroge, the Kenya Amature Golf Championships (KAGC) champion was third.
Hosts Joseph Chinywaai from Tororo Club played level par 293 followed by his compatriot Ronald Otile with seven over par 295.
