Nick Okoth qualify for Olympic Games

Hit squad captain Nick Okoth will be returning to the Olympic Games after 12 years of long wait following his qualification during the Africa Olympic Games Africa qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal.

Today, Okoth, who was the captain for the squad in Dakar won the featherweight title after beating Ugandan Isaac Masembe.

This will be the second time he will be competing at the Olympics following his 2008 campaign in Beijing for the 38 year olf.

Okoth remains the sole Kenyan boxer to have booked a direct ticket to Tokyo.

He will be chasing the title win against Zambian Everisto Mulenga in the featherweight finals.
