No masters race as Great Chepsaita Cross Country Run is Launched

It was a big blow for masters running when it was announced that they will not be competing at the 3rd edition of The Great Chepsaita Cross Country Run set for December 6th in Chepsaita, Uasin Gishu County.

While launching the race yesterday, race patron Farouk Kibet announced it was not his will for the veterans to compete at the coveted race but some circumstances have forced them to do.

He said that the race is very competitive and needs people who have trained enough to face the tough course.

“As you well know that this is a tough course and for one to compete here, he or she must be well trained to tackle the terrains of this course. Due to this, we shall not have masters running come December 3rd,” said Farouk.

With many athletes competing on the course, Farouk said that tey are targeting over 10,000 participants as the event continues to attract top runners with the theme ‘Run for Education’ playing a critical role in education.

“We shall compete in 12 different events and rewarding top 30 finishers.”
