Nsazumukiza and Jandi shine in taekwondo at Refugee trails in Iten

Rwandan Gasto Nsazumukiza and Sara Jandi were the winners of flyweight and Fin weight category in today’s Refugee Athletes Support program trials held at the Lornah Kiplagat Sports Academy in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Gasto won the senior men category Fly weight after edging out Danson Aluoch during the finals while jandi, as the only lady final beat Faith Musa for the title in a one day event that brought together three disciplines that had track, Judo and Taekwondo as part of their training for the Youth Olympics in Dakar, Senegal and 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

In the men’s Finweight, Mohammed Gariyo beat Peter Limo for the title

In the Junior categories, two para fighters Abdul Manyok from South Sudan edged out compatriot maka Mathew at the finals to lift the trophy.

In the 54km arena, DRC’s Lawrence Namukiza beat Rebecca Nyandeng of South Sudan as Dorcas Akero of South Sudan triumphd over Faith Temba.

The only Afghanistan international Omidulla Alizadah,competing in the  decried lack of peace in their nations causing havoc that could have been avoided.
