Newly crowned world cross country champion Hellen Onsando Obiri will lead a congested 3,000m as IAAF Daimond League 2019 season kicks off this Friday in Doha, Qatar.
The Commonwealth Games and world 5,000m champion Obiri won her first world cross country title in Aarhus, Denmark will lead new kid Beatrice Chebet, the world cross country junior champion at Khalifa International Stadium.
Chebet also won the world under 20, 5,000m as well as Africa under 20 5,000m title.
The du will battle Kenyans Africa 1,500m champion Winny Chebet, Loice Chemnung, former Africa cross country silver medalist Beatrice Chepkoech, former world junior 1,500m silver medalist Eva Cherono, Margaret Chelimo, Caroline Kipkirui, Gloria Kite, former world 3,000m steeplechase champion Hyvin Kiyeng, Mary Kuria, Lilian Kasait and former world cross country champion Agnes Tirop.
In 800m, Ferguson Rotich will battle reigning Commonwealth Games 800m champion Wycliffe Kinyamal, Emmanuel Korir, former world under 20 silver medalist and Cornelius Tuwei as Margaret Nyairera Wamboi and Nelly Jepkosgei leads women lineup.
