Obiri retains Olympic silver for second medal for Kenya

World 5,000m champion retained her Olympic Games silver medal at the ongoing Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

Obiri, who won the silver at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro behind the champion Vivian Chruiyot, she managed to win silver behind Netherlands Sifan Hassan at the Olympics stadium today.

The world cross country champion clocked 14:38.36 behind Hassan’s 14:36.79 with Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay taking bronze with 14:38.87.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN1d1jSFXGk

The tough race had Ejgayehu Taye and Senbere Teferi with Kenya’s Agnes Tirop, Kenyan-born Turk Yasemin Can and Ethiopian-born Israel Selamawit Teferi and Japanese Ririka Hironaka.
