Two time Olympic Games 5,000m silver medalist Hellen Obiri will be fcing off with Tsehay Gemechu and Hawi Feysa for later this month’s Istanbul Half marathon.
The 27th March event will see double worold 5,000m champion make her second half marathon this year after finishing second at the Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) half marathon behind the champion Girmawit Gebru from Ethiopia.
With her personal best of 64:22 set at RAK, Obiri will be looking forward to the challenge on the flat Istanbul course.
Feysa has 65:41 after finishing second at the Copenhagen half marathon as Nigsti Haftu and Bekelech Gudeta are other competitors.
The course record is held by world marathon champion Ruth Chepngetich who won the race in world record time of 64:02 (mixed gender).
