Ochola wins KGU chairman’s post

Philip Ochola has been voted unopposed to become the 2023/2024 Kenya Golf Union (KGU).

Coming from Muthaiga, the Friday night at the Annual General Meeting at Muthaiga Golf Club, Ocholla won the title to replace Vet Lab’s Njani Ndiritu.

Limuru’s David Ndung’u was elected vice chairman with Chris Kinuthia of Thika Sports as secretary while Karugu Macharia of Windsor Golf winning treasurer’s post.

The six executive positions were won by Brian Akun, Francis Wambua, Ndiga Kithae, Jonathan Marucha, Sammy Itemere and Thomas Mwaura.

Ochola, in his acceptance speech, said that his top priority during his tenure as chairman is to ensure the successful completion of ongoing projects.

In order to achieve the targets, Ochola intends to collaborate with KGU subsidiaries such as the Junior Golf Foundation, the Kenya Ladies Golf Union and the Kenya Open Golf Limited.
