Okechi beat Koyyoko on KOTH to win Scrabble Kenya title in Kakamega

Richard Okechi defeated Bernard Koyyoko on King of the Hill (KOTH) to win the national  Scrabble Kenya (SK) championships held over the weekend in Kakamega.

After tying with six loses at the tournament, the duo was subjected to KOTH where Okechi won through the spread for the maiden title in the SK championships across the country.

With the tournament played in round robin, Okech said that the tournament was played in different format, which is round robin.

 “The most important thing was to learn how to be patient while playing. I had to be patient and concentrate very well for the victory,” said Okechi.

With two events remaining to the end of the season, Okechi said that he wants to improve and finish in a good position.

The two remaining events will be held in Nyahururu on November 4th and 5th before concluding at the Kisumu meeting set for December 9th and 10th.
