Okoth, Ajowi win bronze as Konstantin Kototkov Memorial end

Hit Squad captain Nicholas “Commander” Okoth and Elly Ajowi settled for bronze medal at the concluded Konstantin Kototkov Memorial boxing tournament in Khabarovsk, Russia.

Competing in featherweight and super heavyweight, Okoth and Ajowi defeated Younes Baalla of Morocco and Tomo Tsuboi from Japan respectively in the bronze medal bracket.

The performance saw Kenya finish 11th with two bronze medals.

Other Kenyan boxers Commonwealth flyweight bronze medalist Christine Ongáre and national bantamweight champion Elizabeth Akinyi lost in the first round of their respective bouts earlier on in the week.
