The reigning Africa Games tennis champion Angella Okutoyi failed to record double victory at the concluded International Tennis Federation (ITF) W35 Women World Tour tournament hosted at the Nairobi Club today.
The Kenyan lost the single title to Chinese Taipei international Joanna Garland at the final in 6-1, 6-6 with the champion enjoying the great supremacy.
However Garland stepped up her game and despite Okutoyi’s resistance broke her serve and won hers to claim the first set in 39 minutes
Okutoyi beat Monika Stanikiewicz of Poland 4-6, 6-2,6-1 in the quarterfinal before setting up the semifinal.
