Reigning Wimbledon doubles junior champion Angella Okutoyi, Alicia Owegi, Roselinda Asumwa and Cynthia Wanjala will lead Kenyan contingent at next month’s Billie Jean King Cup Africa Group III in Nairobi.
The June 12th to 17th encounter at the Nairobi Club is expected to attract top tennis players from across Africa where team Kenya will be under the tutelage of Francis Rogoi.
Kenya last hosted the Billie Jean King Cup in 1995 when it was known as Fed Cup.
Hosts Kenya will be joined by Botswana, Burundi, Ghana, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Seychelles, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe will compete at this year’s edition where the winner will gain promotion to Europe/Africa Group II.
