Former Kenya Simbas player Alex Olaba has been sentenced to six years in jail for attempting to hatch a plot to kill a witness in a gang rape case.
The Former Harlequins rugby player was sentenced by Nairobi court Magistrate Geoffrey Onsarigo in his sentencing today Wednesday said he had considered Olaba’s mitigation and a probation report tabled in court.
Early this month, the court found Olaba guilty of attempting to kill a key witness in 2021.
In the gang rape case, Olaba is charged alongside Frank Wanyama, another rugby player.
“Having gone through the evidence in this case, I find the accused guilty of the offence,” the magistrate ruled.
