Magistrate Court has cancelled former Rugby Player Alex Olaba’s bail terms in an attempted murder case facing the player.
Olaba was rearrested last month with accusations that he attempeted to kill a key witness in their case with former Shujaa player Frank wanyama for raping an upcoming musician at Highrise Estate in Nairobi.
Olaba, who had been released on a Kshs 300,000 cash bail faced a blow after Magistrate Zainab Abdul cancelled his bond terms.
“Once an accused is released on bond he or she must adhere to conditions attached. It’s also the responsibilityof court to intervene when such instances as that of the accused arise,” said Abdul.
The Magistrate in allowing the application by the prosecution said witness interference by an accused person cannot be taken lightly. “Judicial process must at all times be protected. The witness has not even testified in the case,” she said.
