Organisers of 2020 Sports Personality of the Year Awards (SOYA) have named Al Dhuhail SC striker Michael Olunga and world half marathon record holder as the most outstanding athletes.
The Harambee Stars striker, Olunga impressive the committee when he was the Japanese League top scorer and also the Most Valuable Player (MVP) when he plied his trade for Kashiwa Reysol before moving to Al-Duhail of Qatar.
Two time world half marathon champion Jepchirchir broke the women’s half marathon record twice when she clocked 65:16 at the World Half Marathon in Gydnia, Poland.
She also won the Prague Half Marathon and Valencia Half Marathon titles before the close of the year.
